Our Product:

Our promise is to ensure that you get the best bag of pine and spruce firewood for your money.

Bag Size:

Each bag is measured on a 36"x12"x12" jig, which gives you a bag of firewood that holds a minimum of 3.0 cubic feet of wood. It's usually a little more, but by the Canadian Government firewood sales standards, you are getting what is advertised by us.

Weight:

Customers always want to know how much a bag will weigh. This is a normal question to ask.

Because we care about you getting a great bag of firewood, we do not sell bagged firewood by weight. We urge you, the consumer, to be wise when deciding to buy bagged firewood that is advertised by weight. This is not like buying potatoes. A heavier bag does not equal more wood, or better pine or spruce wood for your fire. At best you will get an inaccurate idea of what is in the bag, and at worst, you will have a wet or green bag of wood that burns poorly.

Wood is very absorbent. Moisture content or green wood can change the weight of your bag considerably, and by the Measurement Canada legal standards, we sell it to you by the cubic foot (you get 3.0 cubic feet per bag, to be exact).

For your convenience, we have measured the weight of the bags so that if you need to carry them, you will have a heads up on what it will take to move them yourself. Bags of pine or spruce that have approximately 12-15% moisture will weigh in at roughly 37lbs. That's just over 12lbs / cubic foot. We have seen ads that claim their bags of pine and spruce to be twice as heavy per cubic foot, without explaining why their "dry" or "seasoned" pine and spruce weighs so much. All we can say is, "Buyer beware!"

Moisture Content:

Your firewood's moisture content is well under 20%, which is excellent for firewood. Sometimes it's close to 7%. It depends on a lot of things, like how long it's been since it was split, and what the weather and humidity has been like. We will not sell you premium firewood that has more than 20% moisture.

Size of Pieces:

Pieces range from small kindling thickness, to split wood 5" thick. A bag holds about 30 pieces. The length of the wood is just under 12" to fit into any stove you want.

Packaging Material:

We bag your firewood into 99.97% biodegradable burlap. That means that you can use it again for something else or compost it. Burlap is highly flammable, so if you want, a small amount will help light your fire.

Buy Local, Burn Local:

We are proud to say that all of our logs are sourced in Central Alberta and sold within the Edmonton area. This reduces the spread of pests and invasive species. Please help out and don't transport your firewood to the National Parks, to other provinces, or to the U.S.A.
